Because of its small mouth, care must be taken with foods. Accepts flake food that is crushed or micro-sized pellets, frozen blood worms and frozen tubifex (chopped so they are not too long). Will also feed off of sinking shrimp pellets and bottom feeder wafers. Habrosus cannot compete with other, larger fish for food so care must be taken to ensure food is available for these fish. Breeding:
Best achieved in with smaller groups. A diet of newly hatched brine shrimp and microworms will help condition them. Females will become plump with eggs. Spawning is in typical cory "T" position. Eggs are about 0.8 in diameter, light yellow in color and are usually deposited on the underside of leaves near the substrate. Fry are extremely tiny and therefore need to be fed foods such as infusoria, or prepared foods for egg layer fry in the first few days. Fry can then be fed microworms and baby brine shrimp.

Comments:
A delightful schooling fish that is much more active than a typical cory. While spending much time on the bottom, this cory often explores surfaces within all levels, foraging for food even in the upper strata along leaves and decorations. Care must be taken with medications and chemicals as it can be more sensitive than other cories to these things.
