Care:

These catfish prefer tanks with plenty of hiding spaces along the bottom, and clumps of plants. They like to have open swimming space, as well. The Ornate Cory should be kept in groups of at least six, because it is a shoaling fish. Care must be taken when adding medicines to a tank with these catfish (this applies to all Corydoras catfish) because they have no actual scales. Thus, any medicines added affect them more so than with scaled fish.

Very good fish for any community tank. They will eat waste food that falls to the bottom, but they need to have more food than just leftovers. This species of Corydoras is rare in the aquarium hobby. Fish sold as "C. ornatus" are mostly just mislabeled C. pulcher or C. schwartzi.
